The Administrative Citation Program was established in response to the need for an alternative method of enforcement for various violations of the Palmdale Municipal Code. The goal of the Administrative Citation Program is to improve the quality of life by promoting and protecting the public health, safety, and welfare for Palmdale residents and business owners by reducing the number of code violations through the encouragement of expedient compliance of the Palmdale Municipal Code and State Codes, ordinances, and regulations in a timely and efficient manner. As an alternative to criminal prosecution in specified circumstances, the use of an Administrative Citation could include: failure to maintain front yard landscaping, public nuisance or illegal dumping.
Like all enforcement tools, it is intended to maintain an attractive and thriving community. Any person violating any provision of the Palmdale Municipal Code or applicable State Code may be issued an administrative citation. Each and every day that a violation occurs constitutes a separate and distinct offense.
The failure to pay the fees or fines assessed within the time specified may result in the matter being referred to a collection agency. Any unpaid fees or fines will be assigned to a collection agency approximately 90 days after the original due date. Please note, a delinquent citation assesses 35% of the original fee which is added to the fine for collection/recovery costs.
