The newly formed Aviation and Aerospace Commission is made up of five voting members and two ex-officio non-voting members. The commission provides recommendations to the City Council on plans, programs and policies to promote, recruit and retain aviation and aerospace businesses in Palmdale. The commission also provides recommendations to the City Council on all matters pertaining to the Air Force's Aerospace Production Installation known as Plant 42, as part of the City's role as the designated lead agency for all planning and policy matters at the State and federal level.
