Mobile Home Rent Review Board


The Mobile Home Rent Review Board meets as needed to review and render decisions on mobile home park rent increases as outlined in Palmdale Municipal Code 5.44. The Board consists of five members and three alternates. One member and one alternate member are owners of a mobile home park; one member and one alternate are tenants of a mobile home park; and three members and one alternate are public members who are neither owners nor tenants.

Applicants Sought for Mobile Home Rental Review Board

The City of Palmdale is seeking applicants to serve on the Mobile Home Rental Review Board. Positions currently needed are Alternate Tenant Member and Alternate Owner Member. All positions are nominated by the Mayor and approved by the City Council. Board Members serve a two-year term and until a successor is appointed. The Board does not manage mobile home parks, conduct inspections or investigations of the mobile home parks in the city.

Desired qualifications include: Demonstrated interest in serving the public; ability and willingness to evaluate financial information, hear and evaluate testimony in a public hearing setting, balance the owners legal right to a fair return on investment with the residents right to reasonable rent increase, render a fair decision regardless or personal opinion, and attend meetings; and file a Statement of Economic Interest (Form 700) required under the Fair Political Practices Act and receive State Ethics Training provided by the City. Public and tenant members must reside in the City of Palmdale.

Anyone interested in applying to serve on the Board is requested to pick up an application at the Housing Division, Development Services Building, 38250 Sierra Hwy, Palmdale, CA 93550, or call the Housing Division, 661/267-5126 to request an application. Applications must be accompanied by resumes. Completed applications can be mailed or dropped off, no faxed applications please.
