Senior Citizens Advisory Commission

The Senior Citizens Advisory Commission provides a sounding board in the senior community for the Palmdale City Council and makes recommendations to the City Council on issues relating to seniors. The City Council member appoints senior citizens to the commission for staggered two-year terms. In addition to the five council-appointed members, one person from the American Association of Retired Persons and one person from the Antelope Valley Committee on Aging are appointed to the commission. These appointees serve two-year terms. The commission meets every other month beginning in January and is subject to the Brown Act.
