Tips for enjoying yourself at the Palmdale Fall Festival
Running out of money and blistered toes are no fun, so we’ve compiled a survival guide for the savvy festivalgoer.
Go early. To get the feel of the festival without the crowds, arrive early in the day. There is still plenty to see and do, but there are likely to be fewer people and lines to wait in. Don’t try to conquer everything in one day; you’ll wear yourself out. If you want more of the festival experience, go both days. You can spread your time out and really enjoy yourself. |
| |
Wear comfortable shoes. There’s no doubt that you’ll be doing quite a bit of walking while attending the Palmdale Fall Festival, so make sure your footwear is foot-friendly. |
| |
Bring a camera. You never know what sort of kooky, crazy, cool or just plain interesting things you’ll see so it’s always handy to bring a camera. A disposable camera will suffice for quick snap shots, but for zoom or night shots you might want something a little more advanced. |
| |
Be weather prepared. Mornings and evenings at the festival can be crisp and cool while the afternoons warm up nicely, so dressing in layers is essential. It’s always a good idea to be prepared for changing weather, so pack sunglasses, sunscreen, lip balm, a hat and a light jacket. |
| |
Earplugs. For those with sensitive ears or who just don’t like loud music, earplugs are always a handy item. |
| |
Spending money. Many vendors will only accept cash, so don’t forget to bring extra. Not to worry if you forget; there is an ATM onsite for your convenience. |
| |
Backpacks. Bring an empty backpack or bag to carry your purchases or jacket in. It’s amazing how much extra “stuff” you’ll go home with. |
| |
Time is of the essence. Allow plenty of time to get from one act or exhibit to another, especially when the festival is crowded. Arrive at your “must-see” events early to claim a prime viewing spot as other people have the same idea you do and the area is likely to fill up fast. |
| |
Bathrooms. Be on the lookout for restrooms that are less used. They will come in handy when you need them most; trust us on this one. |
| |
Plan ahead. Establish a recognizable meeting place for you and your party so it is easy to find one another. |
