Highlights of the 2007 Palmdale Jazz & Wine Festival
The festival was kicked off with the classical jazz stylings of
Antelope Valley College Jazz Ensemble. Next up was contemporary jazz guitarist
Jeff Golub, who was followed by the jazz-fusion group,
The Rippingtons. Guests received an unexpected treat: contemporary saxophonist
Paul “Shilts” Weimer, who jammed with The Rippingtons. The evening was capped off with a stellar performance by saxophonist
Richard Elliot, formerly of Tower of Power.
Antelope Valley Winery, Leona Valley Winery and
Cameo Vineyards showcased their wines, while
Anheuser-Busch offered a variety of its higher-end beers for tasting.
All Corked Up, BevMo!, Trader Joe's and
www.wineandjazz.com participated, showcasing a variety of wines from around the state.
Palmdale Community Foundation offered 18 different wines from Central California, Napa Valley and Spain.
Gourmet food was available from some of the Valley's best restaurants, including
Fresco II, Johnny Carino's, Famous Dave's, Eduardo's and
Anna's Bakery.
