Thursday Night on the Square 2010 - Celebrating 10 Years Come Join the Party!

July 1 Freedom Flyers from June 28, 2001. A tribute to the very first Thursday Night on the Square, originally called ‘Red Wagon Night.’ Decorate your wagon and participate in the Red Wagon Parade, open to all ages. Kids can make a sparkler hat, freedom bracelet and star-spangled wand. Enjoy the Stamp’n Station in the Art & Activity Center. R&B by Lorena Mackey & The Hi-Lites.

July 8 Bug’n Out from August 23, 2007. Enter the wonderful world of bugs with your imagination. Kids can create “bug” themed clay creatures in the Claymation Creation contest sponsored by High Desert Medical Group & The Gas Company. Craft a butterfly catcher, bug house and bug soap in the Art & Activity Center. Have fun at the Stamp’n Station. R&B by The Ambassadors of Soul.

July 15 Dogs with Jobs from July 27, 2006. Calling all career dogs! Dress up your pooch in job gear and enter this beloved annual contest to win prizes. Kids can make a dog tag, puppy photo frame and have fun with canine cartoon rock art. Enjoy Easel Art in the Art & Activity Center. Oldies by The Del Aires.

July 22 Amazement from September 2, 2004. An adventure awaits kids inside a maze designed to test their “green” knowledge. Mazers ages 3-12 will solve riddles and complete craft activities sponsored by Waste Management. Create a stamped tote bag, bee ‘green’ pin and an earth friendly bean plant. Country by Tombstone.
July 29 California Dreamin’ from July 21, 2005. Children can ‘visit’ our State’s landmarks and participate in activities from Sacramento’s Gold Country, San Francisco’s Ghirardelli Square, Santa Monica’s sandy shores, the Del Mar Race Track and NASA Dryden Flight Research Center at the Aero Institute. Make your own California postcard in the Art & Activity Center. Swing by Phat Cat.

August 5 Double Trouble from August 14, 2003. You could be seeing double, triple or even quadruple! Twins, triplets and quads of all ages are invited to participate in sibling fun. Join in our multiples contest sponsored by Double D Cupcakes. Kids can make a friendship frame, buddy bracelet and a slumber party pillowcase. Enjoy Easel Art in the Art & Activity Center. R&B by Bump City.

August 12 Stars on the Square from Aug. 7, 2008. Kids can be a star when they walk the red carpet and have their photo taken. Make your own movie director megaphone, superstar shimmer shades and a movie charm bracelet. Enjoy Easel Art. Pop by 33-1/3.

August 19 X Marks the Spot from Sept. 1, 2005. Thar be squalls ahead in this adventure! Children can join pirates on a wild scavenger hunt around the Square. Make a pirate map and an eye patch, learn to talk and dance like a pirate and find the hidden treasure. Enjoy the Stamp’n Station in the Art & Activity Center. Latin rock by Boulevard Knights.

Free Parking. Handicapped Accessible. Pets are not permitted except service dogs and dogs at Dogs with Jobs event on July 15. No bicycles, skateboards, skates or roller blades permitted. Children age 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.Alcohol is not allowed.

Getting to Thursday Night on the Square:
From the Antelope Valley Freeway (SR14), exit at Palmdale Blvd.; turn east. Take Palmdale Blvd. to Sierra Hwy.; turn south. At Avenue Q-11, turn east. Parking is available along Avenue Q-11, Q-10, Q-9 and 9th Street East. Limited parking is available near Palmdale City Library, accessible from Palmdale Blvd. just east of Sierra Hwy.
