Beautiful High Desert Gardening – Water Wise Landscaping in Palmdale

Regional Landscape and Irrigation CD / Web Site

Many people spent a great deal of time and effort to make sure this CD was appropriate for our unique High Desert Climate. The City is very proud to have partnered with the following agencies to produce this high quality CD on Water Wise Gardening for the High Desert: Antelope Valley East Kern Water Agency, City of Lancaster, Mojave Water Agency, Palmdale Water District, Quart Hill Water District, and the City of Victorville.

Please contact your water purveyor, or the appropriate partner, to obtain a copy of the CD, or view it online.

The Department of Water Resources through a Proposition 50 grant has funded the development of this Web link for your use in viewing some of the beautiful plants that thrive here in the High Desert Community of Palmdale.

Please click the link below to view the specialized Garden Tours, our Garden Gallery and search for plants by both botanical and common names. We even have plants sorted by type so that you can just click through and pick the plant by the picture, not having to know the name. Once you have chosen a plant, complete information on growth habits, sizing and water usage are provided to help you design your project. Once you have decided on which plants you are interested in, you can print out your list.

We are also proud to offer tips on how to install an efficient irrigation system, and provide current information on water rebates for our partner, Palmdale Water District. We are continually updating this portion of the garden, so please check back periodically to see what has changed.
