The Marie Kerr Park Expansion includes an amphitheater, a softball complex, an enclosed swimming pool with a retractable roof, and a new recreation center.
Project Impact & Benefits
- Facilities will allow department to accommodate the needs of residents.
- Fields will allow for development of softball programs for residents.
- Softball complex will attract and accommodate the development of tournaments for girls, women and men.
- Softball complex and amphitheater will increase tourism, create new dollars in Palmdale's economy, expand the City's marketing activity, enhance the City's image, instill pride of ownership in residents, make a statement about the City's maturity and enhance the residents' quality of life.
- The recreation center will provide new facilities not now available to residents.
- The amphitheater allows the City and other public agencies, i.e., schools and Palmdale Chamber of Commerce, to conduct special event programs such as festivals, theatrical productions, recitals, lectures, exhibits, local talent showcase events, school graduations, etc.

The valley's only amphitheater hosts community functions and ceremonies, school graduations, free and paid concerts, family movies nights, pageants, recitals, plays, talent shows, fundraisers, music festivals and more.- 6.75 acres

Best of the West Softball Complex
The Best of the West Softball Complex features seven lighted fields, four for girls and women's play, and three for men's slow-pitch. The slow-pitch fields include fences at 310' to accommodate slow-pitch leagues and tournaments. A multi-use field is available for soccer and youth football practices.- 25 acres

Swimming Pool
The swimming pool accommodates recreational swimming, competitive swim team practices and meets, swim lessons, water aerobics, senior citizen swim, lap swim, water polo, family swim, aquatic camps and lifeguard training programs.
