Antelope Valley Resource Conservation District
The
Antelope Valley Resource Conservation District has a nursery at 100th Street West on Avenue I. Its primary purpose is to raise plant stock for conservation efforts --- to plant areas affected by fire or flood, to eliminate dust, reclaim erosion, or act as windbreaks. The nursery also sells trees, bushes, and flower seeds to the public, particularly native varieties, but also the wide variety of landscaping plants found at any nursery. There is an education component of our charter, and the arboretum is a resource for educating the public. One of the objectives of the incoming AVRCD board is to increase the nursery/arboretum's visibility in the Valley.
