Youth Services

The Library's services to children are designed to meet their information and entertainment needs and to enrich their lives through literature.

The Library offers storytimes for babies, toddlers, preschoolers and an after-school storycrafters program for elementary school-age students. There are also three on-going book clubs that meet on a regular basis.

The Library staff provides tours of the Youth Library and offers library skills instruction to both individuals and groups. The staff offers in-person and telephone reference services as well as recommending material to meet specific needs.

The Youth Services collection includes books and non-print material selected for those fourteen and under. The material is chosen to satisfy children's natural curiosity and to help them develop an enjoyment of reading.

The following programs are designed to encourage children to read and expand their imaginations.
