Youth Programs


The following programs are designed to encourage children to read and expand their imaginations.




Wee Read Lapsit Program for 1 Year Olds


Thursdays at the Youth Library
10:00 - 10:45 a.m.


Enjoy stories, fingerplays, songs and bounces with your baby in this lapsit program for one-year-olds and their caregivers.

The Fall session runs from September - November and the Spring session runs from March - May.

Next session:September 4 - November 6, 2008

PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED and begins on August 1st, 2008

Child must be 1 yr. old by September 4, 2008

Each session is limited to 10 children and their caregivers.

No siblings allowed.



Terrific Twos


Tuesdays at the Youth Library
Session 1 10:00 - 10:30 a.m.
Session 2 10:30 - 11:00 a.m.


Enjoy stories, fingerplays, simple creative dramatics and crafts designed for two-year-olds and their caregivers.

The fifteen week sessions run from August - November and February - May.

Next session:August 5 - November 11, 2008

PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED AND WILL BEGIN ON July 1, 2008

Children must be 2 yrs. old by August 5, 2008 to enroll.



Preschool Storytime


Wednesdays 11:00 - 11:45
Thursdays 11:30 - 12:15
at the Youth Library


Encourage your child's enjoyment of language and literature. Bring them to a Library storytime.

The Preschool Storytimes are designed for children three to five years old and include stories with books, songs, fingerplays, puppets, drawings, paper and toys.



Storycrafters Club


Wednesdays at the Youth Library
4:15 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.


Ages 5-9

Hey, Kids!

It's the Palmdale City Library's Storycrafters Club!

Enjoy stories, crafts, treats and guest visitors and performers.



Smart Cookies Junior Book Club


First Tuesday of each month at the Youth Library
4:15 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.


Ages 7 - 9

  1. Read the selected titles
  2. Come to the book club meetings
  3. Talk about the story with new friends
  4. Eat COOKIES!

Read books and become a "Smart Cookie"

Second Tuesday of each month at the Youth Library
4:15 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.


Ages 9-12
