Our staff of professional counselors can augment your own human resources staff and provide a wealth of useful services, including: No-Cost Job Postings both locally and via the Internet utilizing our searchable online Job Bank. Customized Recruiting to help you fill multiple positions quickly. Job Matching through Skills Assessment of potential candidates to assure they are qualified for your positions. Interview Facilities for conducting both one-on-one and group meetings. Initial Screening and Referral of candidates to help optimize your interview time and effort. On-the-Job and Pre-Employment Training to help you develop the training programs you need to satisfy the requirements of your jobs. Business Incentive Information to help you find out about the Enterprise Zone, Foreign Trade Zone, Work Opportunity Tax Credits, Manufacturing incentives and other credits and incentives your business may be eligible for. About the Center
The Center's focus is to provide workforce development services to the community. Through a network of outside partners, the Center brings job seekers and employers together in one place. It is designed to reduce unemployment and underemployment by linking job applicants to appropriate careers, providing training in relevant skills and establishing a resource center whereby people can find new employment opportunities. The no-cost services are provided to employers and job seekers through the federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA) and the City of Palmdale. The WIA provides the framework for a national workforce preparation and employment system. Programs authorized by WIA are provided at the local level to individuals in need of those services, including job seekers, dislocated workers, youth, incumbent workers, veterans, new entrants to the workforce, persons with disabilities and employers. The City of Palmdale has contracted with Goodwill Southern California as the operating agency for the South Valley WorkSource Center. Goodwill has extensive experience in the provision of one-stop services and already operates two other WorkSource Centers in Los Angeles and El Monte, in addition to a dozen Career Resource Centers throughout its service area.
