Public Safety
Public Safety works cooperatively with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Los Angeles County Fire Department and other City departments to prevent crime, increase safety, and reduce fear through community outreach and education in cooperation with residents, business owners, emergency personnel and visitors.
Programs
Public Safety offers a variety of programs such as Neighborhood Watch, Partners Against Crime, Business Watch, Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED), and Adopt-A-Wall graffiti abatement.
Community service officers work directly with the Sheriff's Department to take certain reports, such as burglary, vehicle break-in, and other property crimes, allowing deputies more time to respond to higher priority calls for service.
By working with community members and law enforcement, Public Safety strives to create, support, foster and maintain a safe community.
