The Library is currently offering the following limited services due to the coronavirus pandemic. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please see the answers below to frequently asked questions.
Library staff are available to answer phones Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Patrons with items on hold or who would like to request an item available on site from the Library’s collection may call the Library to make an appointment to pickup held and/or requested items. For more information, please see our pickup service flyer.

Answers to frequently asked questions regarding changes to library services and policies due to the coronavirus:
- Is the Palmdale City Library OPEN to the public?
At the moment we are closed to the public until further notice. We have not yet been given a date for when we can expect to reopen.
- Will programs and story times still be happening?
No, Palmdale City Library has suspended programs and outreach events until further notice.
- What if my card is set to expire?
Library card expiration dates have been pushed back to August 16th. If your library card has previously expired and you wish to use it to access our online resources, including our ebooks, please contact us.
- What if my books are due?
The majority of items currently checked out have had their due dates extended to October 1st. Patrons with materials currently checked out will therefore be able to keep those materials until then. If you are unsure whether your due dates have been extended, please contact us and we will be happy to check for you, or you can check your account online.
- What if I would like to have access to the library’s online resources or use the pickup service, but I don’t have a library card?
If you’ve never had a Palmdale City Library card before and would like to get one during this time, you can apply online by clicking on the orange "register for a Library card" button on our catalog page, which can be accessed here. Once you submit your application, please call us at 661-267-5600 to complete the process and obtain your library card number, which will allow you to access our online resources and request items for pickup. You may not be able to pick up your physical library card until we reopen.
- I still have questions. Can I talk to someone?
