State of California Wastewater Payment Program
The City of Palmdale was awarded grant funds to assist Palmdale residents and businesses with past due sewer wastewater debt that may have accumulated during the COVID-19 pandemic period last year.
As part of the City’s participation in the California Wastewater Arrearage Payment Program, federal funds were administered to provide relief to community water systems, wastewater treatment providers, and wastewater billing entities to help eligible customers with past-due or delinquent sewer balances that may have accumulated during the pandemic period covering March 4, 2020 to June 15, 2021. If a customer account is determined to be eligible for assistance according to the requirements of the program, a credit will be applied directly to the customer’s sewer services charges that appear on their property tax billing statement. Eligible customers will be notified in writing that their delinquent sewer collections debt has been cleared or reduced, the city will not issue checks or payments directly to utility customers.
