Classics Book Club to Discuss Pulitzer-Prize Winning Novel

The Palmdale City Library’s Classics Book Club will discuss the novel The Wapshot Chronicle by John Cheever, Monday, Oct. 28, at 7 p.m, at the library, located at 700 E. Palmdale Blvd.

    Originally published in 1957, The Wapshot Chronicle tells the story of the Wapshots, an eccentric family that lives in a small fishing village in Massachusetts. The debut novel by Cheever, who had previously written only short stories, The Wapshot Chronicle won a National Book Award in 1958. 

The Classics Book Club meets on the fourth Monday of every month from 7 to 8 pm. New members are welcome to attend.

The Palmdale City Library is open seven days a week. Hours of operation are Monday through Thursday from 10 am to 8 pm; Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm; and Sunday from 1 to 5 pm.
